Vin Diesel's Fast and Furious Fights Scenes
Updated: Dec 7, 2022
In 2001 when The Fast and The Furious was released to the big screen, the first element that caught fan’s attention was of course cars’ races which was the basic theme that holds the whole plot together. Along the street races and the fast cars' chase, they also introduced another big element as attractive to the fans as the car’s race: Fast & Furious Was Never Just About Cars. Let's talk about BIG FIGHT SCENES.

We all remember Dom’s (Vin Diesel) famous phrase: “What you put in that sandwich” that was the key to end of Brian (Paul Walker) and Vince (Matt Schulze) street fight in the first installment of the saga when both guys were fighting for Mia’s (Jordana Brewster) attention, since that first one hand-to-hand fighting scenes were keep active along the whole franchise rising fan’s adrenaline as much as car's race, car's chase or action scenes.
During Fast and Furious 4, a very furious Dom attacks Brian in another epic fight when he learns that Brian was the last person in contact with Letty (Michelle Rodriguez); Brian explains Letty was working undercover, tracking Braga in exchange for clearing Dominic's record.

Also in Fast and Furious 4, Brian found Dom fighting Braga (John Ortiz) in his apartment leading to a cop and criminal full of action scene. While Brian was the pointed as a main character of the first two movies, he wasn’t the basis for the Fast & Furious franchise. It’s Dom Toretto's actions in the Fast & Furious movies, both right and wrong, that are highlighted and have an impact on the overarching story. As a result Dom leads the majority of the fights in this franchise.

I would like to use this opportunity to remind everyone that even tho the introduction of Dwayne Johnson to the franchise during Fast Five was awesome due to the fact that was adding a fresh and dynamic new character to the plot, as we previous mention the fight element was part of the franchise since the first The Fast and The Furious in 2001. The only notorious difference in the previous instalments' fights was Dom's corporal size comparing to his opponent. In all the previous fights Dom's size was always dominating the scene therefore the wining was for sure on Dom's side even before ending the scene. Being Hobbs size as big and strong as Dom, creates in the audience's mind the unknown sensation that anything could happens between them raising insecurity about Dom's win. Therefore we have to admit that Fast Five hand-to-hand epic fight scene promote the echoed through all subsequent Fast and Furious movies.

With Fast & Furious 6 expanding and increasing the fight's dynamic over the cars race or cars chase, Fast & Furious’ Fight Scenes become a notorious and big part of the saga's DNA sequel after sequel. In the video below we have the impressive jaw-dropping subway fight that makes everyone keep the mouth opened when watching.

The iconic ending in Fast and Furious 6 based in fights and chase is another extraordinary scene where each character assumed the responsibility of their character working as an impeccable and coordinated team until the end. As you all remember when Shaw's group board a moving plain, Dom's crew gives chase. Dom, Letty, and Brian board the craft; Brian rescues Mia and escapes. The plane attempts to take-off but is held down by excess weight as the rest of the team tether the plane to their vehicles. As the plane crashes, Shaw (Luke Evans) is thrown and seriously injured, and Dom drives a Charger out of the exploding plane.

The Fast and Furious franchise is known for its tough women – and when you put Olympic bronze medal-winning Judo champion Ronda Rousey on the set, you expect her to demonstrate her fighting prowess. In Furious 7 the heart-racing showdown between Rousey’s character and Michelle Rodriguez took place in a penthouse in Abu Dhabi. The actress wasn’t scared to go hand-to-hand with Ronda but she ended up with a few battle wounds. “It’s a super oestrogen-fuelled fight scene and I can’t wait to see the shock factor,” says Rousey to the press back in the days.
