After an extended period of silence, we have news about the future release of Vin Diesel's Fast X Part 2 (or commonly call Fast & Furious 11). According to some rumors going around in Hollywood these days, "Fast 10 Part 2" is Vin Diesel's latest Fast and Furious movie. Vin Diesel and Universal are ending the beloved saga with this Fast X Part 2 installment, giving an end to Toretto's family adventures.

Is Fast & Furious 11 the end of the road for Dominic Toretto? This last installment of the saga which represents Fast & Furious: Vin Diesel's Return in Fast 11

The next Fast & Furious film is Vin Diesel's last ride as Dominic Toretto. Jeff Sneider reports (via The InSneider) that the longtime star, who has steered the Fast franchise as a producer since 2009, will return for the "back-to-basics" sequel to last summer's Fast X. The "lean and mean" Fast 11 is described as the final film of this saga, 2001's The Fast and the Furious, and will focus on one big heist or race rather than another globe-trotting adventure for the Fast family — "one last job" for Diesel's Toretto. According to the report, Universal is budgeting the Fast X Part 2 film at "$200 million or less".

Sneider also reports that the final Fast & Furious installment may opt for a new villain rather than bring back Jason Momoa's Fast X character Dante Reyes, who was out for revenge against Toretto's crew over the events of 2011's Fast Five. The latest entry ended on a cliffhanger as Dante trapped Dom and his son, little Brian (Leo Abelo Perry), at the bottom of a dam rigged with explosives.

Another interesting thing to come from the report is that Fast 11 may not be a direct continuation of Fast X. Fans will remember that the 2023 action movie ended on several cliffhangers, including one that saw Dom and his son trapped at the bottom of a dam rigged with explosives. The original plan was for Fast 11 to pick up immediately from the end of Fast X, with Jason Momoa returning as villain Dante Reyes, who is seeking revenge on Toretto and his family for the death of his father in Fast Five. However, Sneider hints that Fast 11 may introduce a new villain that more closely fits in with the film's "back to basics" approach.

On February 23, 2024, Vin Diesel shared trough social media a post Confirming the gran finally and ending of his famous Fast and Furious saga.

At this point and after this clear end of the Fast and Furious franchise with Fast X part 2, we are not sure if all those spinoffs previously mentioned on several separate occasions during the last couple of years are going to become real or not. The one at work today is Dwane Johson and Jason Momoa spinoff which had a working title, "Hobbs and Reyes". But now, new reports claim that the title of the upcoming film is set to change.

The great news for all the Fast and Furious' fans is that Vin Diesel and Universal have a solid, long-time relationship and are already talking and negotiating a new multimillion-dollar franchise related to cars. No clue yet if this new project will be in any way related to Dom Toretto's family, but for sure it is related to cars. I guess we all will have more information about this new Diesel/Universal adventure after the release of Fast X part 2.

Could Dante Reyes' Storyline End in the Hobbs Spinoff Film?

In June 2023, Universal announced a new spinoff film starring Dwayne Johnson's Luke Hobbs, which would be set between Fast X and Fast 11. Longtime Fast & Furious collaborator Chris Morgan is penning the forthcoming spinoff, currently titled Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Reyes, which indicates that Momoa's Dante Reyes will be part of the entry. The film is expected to pick up from the post-credit's scene of Fast X, which saw Momoa's Dante leave a threatening message to Johnson's Hobbs that he is next on his hit list. Hobbs & Reyes may now wrap up Dante's storyline, leaving Fast 11 with a clean slate to wrap up the franchise.

If this happened and Hobbs ended Dante Reyes life during his sequel, opens the possibility of the previously mentioned new villane in Fast X part 2. Here we go again, reading many articles and looking up many other fans' ideas just trying to figure it out and predict the outcoming last part of the saga.

Fast X grossed $714.6 million at the global box office in 2023. Because of its budget, Variety reported the tenth entry "barely crawled into the black and will post a modest profit." After director Louis Leterrier confirmed that Fast 11 was on hold during the 148-day writers' strike last summer, the Fast franchise hit another speed bump in December when Diesel's former assistant sued the actor for sexual battery; the alleged incident occurred in 2010, according to the lawsuit.

Also, this year everybody was shocked to find out that a previous Vin Diesel's assistant sued him for alleged sexual battery back in 2010.

"Diesel's attorney, Bryan Freedman, responded to Vanity Fair's request for comment with the following statement: “Let me be very clear: Vin Diesel categorically denies this claim in its entirety. This is the first he has ever heard about this more than 13-year-old claim made by a purportedly 9-day employee. There is clear evidence which completely refutes these outlandish allegations.”
