Fast Five _ I have to say that even when I am a hard fan of the full saga, this chapter 5 is my favorite. Universal Pictures transferred Toretto’s saga from action film (street racing), to heist action series (involving cars), by doing so, they expected to attract wider audiences and in this five installment (into this new category), the team went from hijacking fuel tankers (Fast 4), in the Dominican Republic to organize a high performance heist in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

During a life Facebook session Vin Diesel explained that Hobbs was originally written and created with Academy Award winning actor Tommy Lee Jones in mind.

In those days (2009-2010) the present of social media (Facebook) was already ruling our life and Vin Diesel use to have something called Vinbook were he used to get together with his fans, in one of those chats sessions (prior production of Fast Five), talking with fans about the incoming 5 installment, someone suggested the idea to have Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson side by side in a movie...the rest is history.

“The reason we brought Dwayne Johnson into Fast 5 was because of you! There was a girl named Jan Kelly who said, 'I would love to see you work together on screen.' So the role that was originally written for Tommy Lee Jones, we gave it to Dwayne and he shined in it.”

Fast Five, also known as Fast & Furious 5 or Fast and Furious 5: Rios Heist is a 2011 American heist action film directed by Justin Lin and written by Chris Morgan. It is the sequel to Fast & Furious (2009) and the fifth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise.

Fast Five premiere took place in Rio de Janeiro on April 15, 2011, and was theatrically released worldwide on April 29 same year.

The film stars: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Matt Schulze, Sung Kang, Tego Calderon, Don Omar, Gal Gadot, Dwayne Johnson, Elsa Pataky and Joaquim de Almeida.

Plot: Dominic Toretto and Brian O'Conner recruit their team to steal $100 million dollars from a corrupt powerful Brazilian drug lord, while being pursued for arrest by U.S. Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) agent Luke Hobbs.

Toretto and O’Connor must do one final job in order to get their freedom for good. Assembling their elite team of car racers, Brian and Dom know they must confront the corrupt drug lord who wants them dead, before agent Hobbs finds them.
